The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance after a theft was recently reported in the City of Barrie.

On Friday, April 26, 2019, police attended to the Kozlov Mall located at 400 Bayfield Street after the owner of a motor vehicle that was parked in the parking lot reported that two mobile devices were stolen from their unlocked car.

A canvass of businesses in the immediate area of the theft has provided police with a timeline and video surveillance that clearly shows a male suspect entering the unlocked car at 4:17 p.m. After the theft was carried out, the suspect is seen walking quickly away toward Bayfield Street.

The suspect being sought is described as:

  • Male white, short brown hair, clean shaven face, red baseball hat, black jacket with hood, black coloured, possibly Adidas pants with white at the ankles, black backpack, black shoes with white soles.

The Barrie Police reminds the public to never leave valuables in your car and to make sure that it is always locked when it left unattended.

Anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact Constable Wyville of the Barrie Police Service at 705-725-7025, ext. 2508, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or leave an anonymous tip online at www.p3tips.com.
