Barrie Police are seeking the identity of three quick-fingered thieves, after they helped themselves to a shopper’s wallet at Walmart on Bayfield Street in Barrie, on Thursday, April 25, 2019

The victim made a purchase at the store, exited the building and left in her vehicle. When she arrived home, she discovered her wallet was missing. Upon calling to cancel her financial cards, the victim learned that several fraudulent transactions had already been made.

After reviewing security footage, police were able to determine that three individuals worked together to commit these crimes. Suspect #3 observed the woman as she made her purchase and then joined the other two suspects. All three suspects then followed the victim out of the store, and Suspect #1 reached into the victim’s coat and removed her wallet without her noticing, while Suspects #2 and #3 kept a lookout. After their theft, the suspects were able to make several fraudulent transactions, before the cards were cancelled.

The three suspects are described as:

Suspect #1

  • Female, white, 30-40 years old
  • Brown hair
  • Wearing all black and a white scarf with a black print on it

Suspect #2

  • Male, white, 20-30 years old
  • Thin build
  • Wearing black/white camouflage printed hat, sunglasses, black zip-up hooded sweatshirt, light coloured pants and black shoes

Suspect #3

  • Male, white, 25-35 years old
  • Wearing a black hat, black jacket, cross-body bag, black shoes with white soles

Police remind the public to ensure they conceal their PIN when inputting it in public, and not to keep their personal items in an area that is easily accessible to others.
