Laptop Computers Stolen

The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance after a theft was reported at a business located in the City of Barrie.

On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, police attended Staples located at 561 Bayfield Street after two male suspects the night before entered the store on two separate occasions and stole two laptops computers. In both cases, the suspects were able to disable an anti-theft mechanism that secured the laptops to the display counter that they situated upon.

An instore video surveillance system clearly shows the theft and a laptop being concealed in the track type pants that were worn by one of the suspects on each visit into the store. The thefts took place between 8:30 p.m. and 8:56 p.m. and netted the thieves a Google Pixel Book laptop and a MacBook Pro 15 inch laptop with a combined value in excess of $4200.00.

The suspects being sought are described as:

  • Male brown, heavy set, approximately 5’7, in his 20's with a black beard, wearing black track pants, white running shoes and a navy blue, white and red zip up sweater.
  • Male brown, normal build approximately 5’7, in his 20's with black facial hair, wearing black track pants, grey shirt and a dark coloured zip up sweater.
