 Convenience Store Robbed
April 16th, 2019 - Police & the Community

The Barrie Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public with regards to an ongoing robbery investigation.

On Monday, April 15, 2019, at 6:22 p.m., police responded to report of a robbery at the Lucky Convenience Store located at 4 Cedar Point Road, Unit A, in the City of Barrie. A lone male entered the store, produced a weapon and made a demand for cash. The suspect then proceeded to remove an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency from the cash register and fled the store on foot. He ran from the store in a south westerly direction towards the rear of the building and then continued northbound through some nearby properties.

Surveillance video that was obtained from a nearby business shows that the suspect was in the area for at least an hour prior to the robbery taking place and it is possible that he may have been observed by people in the Cedar Point area. The suspect is described as:

  • Male black, approximately 20-24 years of age, between 5'9" to six feet tall, medium build wearing a black (upper portion) and camo (lower portion) hoody, black pants, grey shoes, black gloves with a Nike emblem on the outside portion of the glove (closest to the pinky finger), possible Nike therma touch screen gloves.
  • The hoody was up over the males head and the draw strings were pulled tight to conceal his hair and obscure most of his face.  He was also wearing sun glasses and a dark mask like cloth covering the lower portion of his face.

The Barrie Police Service is asking anyone with information on this robbery to contact Barrie Police Investigative Services at 705-725-7025, ext. 2561, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or leave an anonymous tip online at www.p3tips.com.
