Police Look to Identify Shoplifting Suspect

The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance after a suspect attempted to steal some merchandise from a store located in the south end of Barrie

On Friday, March 22, 2019, shortly after 3:00 p.m., police responded to the Walmart located on Mapleview Drive after a male was observed concealing products that were selected from within the store in a grocery bag. The suspect proceeded to leave the store without paying for the items, but dropped the bag as he hastily made his exit. Police are attempting to identify the suspect whose image was captured on video surveillance.

The suspect is described as:

  • male white, short black hair, dark moustache, wearing sunglasses on his head, black coat with a hood, black pants, and white/black shoes.
