Barrie Police Investigating Overnight Wounding
February 24th, 2019 - Police & the Community

The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance after two males were injured overnight in the City of Barrie.

This morning, at 2:27 a.m., police responded to a report to two persons being treated for what appeared to be gunshot wounds at a local hospital. The injuries were believed to have been sustained at an establishment located on Dunlop Street East in the City of Barrie and are non-life threatening in nature.

From the investigation which has followed by members of the Barrie Police Investigative Services, it has been determined that while police were investigating what appeared to be an unrelated incident at the downtown establishment, the victims, after realizing that they were injured made their way to hospital for treatment. A short time later, police were notified and determined that the two incidents were actually related.

This investigation, which appears to be isolated in nature, remains ongoing and further details will only be provided as the investigation permits.

Anyone with information with regards to this wounding is asked to contact Sergeant Michael Ross of the Barrie Police Investigative Services at 705-725-7025, ext. 2524, by email at mross@barriepolice.ca, by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or leave an anonymous tip online at www.p3tips.com.
