January 14th, 2019 - Police & the Community

A woman using reusable grocery bags to carry her selections through a local grocery store raised the suspicions of the store’s loss prevention officer (LPO) at a Bayfield Street grocery store at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019.

After noticing the woman placing items into her reusable shopping bag, the LPO then observed the woman leaving the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. The LPO confronted the female suspect and attempted to arrest her for theft, but she left the scene in a taxi from an unknown company. A plastic bin was also found in the cart, which contained another reusable shopping bag, full of stolen items.

The suspect is described as:

  • Female, white
  • 25-35 years old
  • Wearing a black winter hat and black winter coat
