Police Investigate Daytime Break and Enters
January 28th, 2019 - Police & the Community

The Barrie Police Service is appealing to the public for assistance after a number of break and enters have been reported in the City of Barrie.

Since early January, Barrie Police has responded to a number of break and enters that have taken place in the northwest part of the city. From the investigations that have followed, police have determined that these occurrences are likely related as the entries have all taken place while the homeowners were away during the day, the homes were found to be ransacked, jewellery and other valuables were targeted and a vehicle of interest has been seen in the area.

The Barrie Police has obtained video surveillance that links a small white Nissan Versa Note, 4 door white, hatchback style car with dark coloured rims to a number of these reported incidents. The only suspect description known is male, with a medium build.

At anytime, if anyone sees a suspicious vehicle or person who is on a property that they shouldn't be on, you are encouraged to call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information on these break and enters or the suspected involved vehicle is asked to contact Constable Waugh of the Barrie Police Service at 705-725-7025, ext. 2738 or by email at jwaugh@barriepolice.ca. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or leave an anonymous tip online at www.p3tips.com.
