Gamer gives back stolen property, police seeking suspect identity

Barrie Police Service is looking to identify a suspect who stole almost $300 worth of video games from the Bayfield Street Walmart location.

On Saturday, December 15, 2018, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the suspect was seen on surveillance video taking several video games off the shelf and placing them in his jacket pockets. The suspect then made his way to a different area of the store, where he placed the games into a plastic Walmart bag. He then proceeded to attempt to exit the store, making no attempt to pay for any of the items.  After being stopped by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer, the suspect returned the games and left the store.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male, white
  • 25 to 35 years old
  • Approximately 5’10” tall
  • Wearing a grey and blue hooded sweatshirt, a grey baseball cap and blue jeans
  • Brown moustache and goatee
