Barrie Police Investigative Services are seeking public assistance to locate 21-year-old Ashtoney Thompson. He is wanted following a robbery that occurred in the City of Barrie.

On Monday, September 17, 2018, just before 4:00 a.m., police were called to Duckworth Plaza, located at 353 Duckworth Street for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they located and spoke with two victims; who indicated the suspects fled the area in a motor vehicle, and provided police with a description of the suspect vehicle.

The vehicle was located by police at the intersection of Blake Street and St. Vincent Street, after the driver had lost control and crashed into a nearby park. Three suspects fled the area on foot, although they were located in the surrounding area by canine. A 17-year-old female, a 16-year-old female, and a 21-year-old male from Toronto were arrested and taken into custody.

A further investigation determined a fourth suspect had fled the City of Barrie, and was travelling to Union Station, located in the City of Toronto. Toronto Police Service assisted in attempting to locate the suspect, although he was never located. It’s believed Ashtoney Thompson is still in the Greater Toronto Area.

Investigators have now obtained a warrant for his arrest. He is wanted for Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000, and described as;

  • Male, black (18 to 20 yrs.)
  • Thin build, 6’
  • Dark hair - dreadlocks
  • Dark goatee
  • Last seen wearing beige pants, white long sleeved shirt, and had been wearing a sling on his right arm.
