Shoplifter Stopped in His Tracks with Steak and Beer

On Sunday, September 2nd, 2018 at approximately 2:30 pm  police were called to Zehrs located at 620 Yonge Street, in the City of Barrie, for a shoplifter.  The Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) reported that  a male was placed under arrest for theft, however, the suspect fled on foot and was last seen walking in the area of Big Bay Point and Yonge Street.  Video surveillance showed the suspect selected several packs of beer and steak, placing the items in a cart.  He then pushed the cart past all points of purchase and into the parking lot. Upon the LPO advising he was under arrest, he left the cart and ran through the parking lot.  The total amount stolen exceeded $160.00.

  • Male, white
  • Approximately 6'2" tall & thin build
  • Tattoo on upper left arm
  • Wearing a black cap, dirty white t-shirt with cut off sleeves and carrying a blue back pack
