ARRESTED - Suspect Wanted for Human Trafficking Offences

Investigators received numerous tips, which assisted in identifying a 23-year-old Barrie man, who was wanted for human trafficking offences. 

Upon further investigation, it had been determined the 23-year-old man had been trafficking a female youth, from the City of Barrie. He had been exploiting the victim in the sex trade for a period of time, and while exercising control over her actions and movements, he had been profiting. 

The 23-year-old Barrie man has been charged with; Procuring, Advertising Sexual Services and Derive a Material Benefit from Sexual Services. He is scheduled to appear in a Barrie bail court Friday afternoon.

Investigators from the Barrie Police Street Crime Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a male who is wanted for human trafficking offences.

It has been determined the suspect had been trafficking a female youth, from the City of Barrie and had exploited the victim in the sex trade for a period of time. It is believed that the suspect profited from the victim’s acts, and had exercised control over her actions and movements.

The suspect is known to visit the Barrie and Greater Toronto Area.

The suspect is described as;

  • Male, white (25 to 30 yrs.)
  • Long dark hair – Worn in braids
  • Thin build
