Suspect Steals Wallet from Thornton and Uses it in Barrie

Barrie Police are looking to identify a male who was captured on video surveillance using a stolen credit card after nine (9) transactions were attempted on financial cards from a stolen wallet. 

On Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018 a vehicle was entered in the area of Barrie Street, in the town of Thornton and subsequently reported to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).  Various items were stolen including the owners wallet with financial cards inside.  The owner received a phone call from his financial institution over some suspicious activity.  He soon learned two (2) of his cards were used at nine (9) businesses throughout Barrie, exceeding $240.00 in fraudulent purchases.

Suspect Description:

  • Male, white
  • 35 to 40-years-old
  • Brown hair in a short buzz cut
  • Upper arm tattoos
