 UPDATE: Second Male Arrested Following Shooting in Barrie

Investigators with Barrie Police Service have arrested a second man and are seeking two additional suspects as part of an ongoing investigation into a shooting that occurred in the City of Barrie, on Sunday June 3, 2018.

On Thursday, June 7, 2018, police furthered their investigation which led them to a residence in Bradford West Gwillimbury. With the assistance of South Simcoe and York Regional Police the vehicle believed to be involved in Sundays shooting was located at residence on Romanelli Crescent.

One of three suspects was also located at the residence but fled the area on foot. As a precaution three Bradford schools were placed into a hold and secure.

Information led to police to a residence on Faris Street where the man was located, after breaking into the home to evade police. The 23-year-old Bradford man was arrested without incident and has been remanded into custody and charges are pending. 

The investigation is ongoing. Any additional witnesses that may have seen or heard anything in the area leading up to, or following, the shooting are asked to contact police.
