Investigation Underway After Vehicle and Cyclist Collide

On Sunday, May 20th, 2018 shortly before 11:00 pm a collision occurred between a vehicle and bicycle on Bayfiled Street, just north of Cundles Road, in the City of Barrie.  The driver of the Ford Mustang, heading northbound on Bayfield Street, was not physically injured in the incident.  A 48-year-old Barrie male, who was riding the bicycle in an unknown direction at the time of the incident, was taken to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and then transported to a GTA hospital with critical injuries. The northbound lanes of Bayfield Street were closed most of the night for collision reconstruction however have since opened.
