Barrie Police Service is currently investing a theft from Sport Chek where a female suspect removed security tags before concealing items and fleeing from the mall.

On Thursday, March 29th, 2018 at 1:30 pm a single female suspect was observed acting suspicious by staff at Sport Chek located in the Georgian Mall at 509 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie. The female was followed out of the store with no further indication by the store security system that she had stolen items in her possession.  When the area the female had been lurking was checked, security tags that had been removed from clothing were found.  Review of video surveillance showed the female remove the tags in what appeared to be a swift and practiced maneuver.  It is believed the suspect removed over $300 of merchandise from the store in the short period of time she was there.
