In February 2018 the Barrie Police Service Street Crime Unit (SCU) commenced an investigation into drug trafficking following numerous complaints from concerned community members residing in the area of 90 and 100 Little Avenue, in the City of Barrie.

On Friday, March 9, 2018, members of the Barrie Police SCU, along with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police Tactical Response Unit, York Regional Police Service Emergency Response Unit and the Barrie Police Service Tactical Support Unit, executed four (4) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants at several residences at 90 and 100 Little Avenue, along with a residence on Megan Court, in the City of Barrie.

Police have arrested eighteen (18) people and have seized a quantity of drugs and drug related evidence.

The investigation will continue throughout the weekend. It is anticipated that further information will be released Monday morning
