Barrie Police Service has identified and arrested the female suspect wanted in relation to the theft of lottery tickets and cigarettes from Wednesday, February 21st, 2018. 

Leading up to her arrest, the female was also identified as a suspect in connection with two additional thefts of lottery tickets.  On Friday, March 2nd, 2018 the female attended the Hasty Market located at 480 Mapleton Avenue, in the City of Barrie, distracting the employee and stealing the scratch tickets before fleeing.  Within two (2) hours the female attended the Mac's Convenience at 221 Ferndale Drive South, in the City of Barrie, where she cashed in her winnings on the previously stolen tickets then distracted the employee and stole another tray of tickets before fleeing.

On Sunday, March 4th, 2018 at 1:15 am  the female was recognized by an employee working at Mac's Convenience at 280 Dunlop Street West, in the City of Barrie, as she attempted to cash in scratched lottery tickets.  She was denied service and upon leaving the employee collected a licence plate to pass on to police.  The vehicle was located a short distance away with the female in the passenger seat. 

The 32-year-old Toronto female was charged with:

  • Theft Under $5000 x 2
  • Fraud Under $5000
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation x 2

The female was in the company of a male who was currently on a court ordered Undertaking with a condition to not associate with the female suspect.  The male was arrested in relation to his breach.  Officers also located a bag containing suspected crystal methamphetamine, a bag containing suspected powder fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and a replica air soft hand gun. All items were seized in relation to the arrest of the male.

The 34-year-old Barrie male was charged with:

  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Fentanyl 

Barrie Police Service is investigating a theft from a convenience store after a female distracted the clerk and left the store without paying for concealed items.

On Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 at approximately 10:00 pm a lone female attended the Macs Convenience located at 610 Huronia Road, in the City of Barrie.  She kept her fur-trimmed hood up the entire time in the store, concealing most of her face from surveillance cameras.  The suspect selected various items from the store bringing them to the counter to purchase.  Once the employee had loaded a few items in a bag, the female asked for a specific energy drink that was out of stock on the shelf. The employee left the counter to retrieve case requested by the suspect.  While the counter was unattended, the female removed items from the bag concealing them in her jacket and selected a variety of scratch lottery tickets leaving the store before the employee returned.

The suspect was last seen leaving the parking lot in a grey or silver SUV.  No make, model or licence plate could be obtained by video.
