Vehicle Located, Driver Still Outstanding Fail to Remain

On Monday, January 15th, 2018 at 12:50 pm police were called to the parking lot at 73 Carol Road, in the City of Barrie, for a report of an abandoned vehicle with similar damage reported from the fail to remain.  Once on scene, police determined the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on Thursday, January 4th, 2018 from a Zehrs parking lot in Orillia. At this time the suspect involved in the theft as well as the driver during the collision is  still unknown.

On Friday, January 12th, 2018  at 4:15 pm, Barrie Police Service launched an investigation into a fail to remain collision near Ross Street and Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie.

One of the vehicles involved, believed to be a silver Toyota Camry, fled the scene without stopping to speak to the other driver involved or waiting for police.  Due to the collision, the fleeing car left behind the rear right tail light and had significant damage to the rear bumper.
