November 22nd, 2017 - Police & the Community

On Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 at 2:20pm two suspects entered Cabela's Sporting Goods located at 50 Concert Way, in the City of Barrie.  They were observed on surveillance walking directly to the hunting section of the store.

The suspects selected a shopping basket and a shirt from within the store. They then proceeded to select two Ridgetec Summit 12mp trail cameras and one Skypoint trail camera concealing the products under the shirt in the basket. They both then proceeded into a portable ice fishing tent on display and fully erect. The suspects attempted to remove the security alarm from the packaging of all items but only succeeded on the two Ridgetec camera. They were not successful in removing the security alarm from the Skypoint camera and left it inside the tent.

The suspects then exited the store, not purchasing any items and walked to a silver SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer or GMC Acadia with an unknown plate, and drove southbound out of camera range.
