On Sunday, November 26th, 2017 at 3:26pm police attended the Walmart located at 450 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie, where loss prevention was reporting three people involved in a distraction theft.  A female had attended the store earlier in the day and purchased a television as well as other household items, totaling over $300.00.

The female re-attended the store with two other males, approaching the customer service department to return the television as well as the other merchandise for a gift receipt.  The female was refunded the full amount, however advised the transaction has a delay to return into the receiving bank account. Immediately the female tried to pay for additional items using the same method of payment.  Upon the account being declined multiple times the female rolled the cart to one of the males and distracted the employee while the two males took the cart full of goods out of the store.
