MEDIA INVITE: Official Launch of "Report a Bully" Button
October 3rd, 2017 - Police & the Community

This Friday, October 6th is our official launch of our confidential bullying reporting system. Our goal is to add a tool and provide another avenue for our youth to report cases of bullying. This is an exciting endeavour with the hopes that it will empower our youth to come forward without the fear of retaliation.

Please join us at our Official Launch

  • WHERE: Eastview Secondary School
  • WHEN: Friday, October 6th, 2017 1:30pm
  • WHO: Speakers will include Superintendent of Simcoe County District School Board, Senior Management Representative of the Barrie Police Service, representative of the Eastview Secondary School Leadership class and Vice Principal of Eastview Secondary School.

Also in attendance will be the Grade 11-12 Leadership Class of Eastview Secondary School and a roster of Grade 9 students dressed in PINK and carrying Anti-Bullying Posters.

What is the “Report a Bully” button?

In an ongoing effort to promote safety and security for our youth within our community, the Barrie Police Service has implemented an confidential bully reporting system with the collaboration of both the Simcoe County District School Board and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, empowering our youth to take a stand against bullying.

The “Report a Bully” button on our external website will be live Friday, October 6th, 2017. Victims, witnesses, or third party complainants of bullying can click on this button and follow the prompts to create a report. Reports submitted will come to the Barrie Police Community Services Unit for review and further action.

We look forward to you joining our launch on Friday and encourage you to spread the word on this amazing initiate and wear PINK!
