Arrested - Police Seeking Identity of Theft Suspect

Police have arrested and charged a 23-year-old Barrie man following a theft at Loblaws on October 15, 2017.

The accused appeared in bail court Wednesday morning. He has been charged with; Theft Under, Escape Lawful Custody and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation.

The Barrie Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect following a theft at Loblaws, located at 472 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie.

On Sunday, October 15, 2017, a suspect was captured on video surveillance selecting several items from within the grocery department, including a Budweiser six-pack, as well as items from the Joe Fresh collection.  The suspect concealed all the items into a Niki bag he had been carrying, and quickly exited the store.

Once outside he was approached by loss prevention, although fled the area on foot.The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as;

  • Male, white (25 to 29 yrs.)
  • Athletic build, 6’0”
  • Wearing a back “Under Armour” baseball hat, grey hoodie, and black pants and carrying a black Niki bag.
