Police Capture Robbery Suspect Disguised as a Mouse

Investigators have identified and charged a 19-year-old Barrie male who was disguised as a mouse when he robbed a Mac’s Convenience Store, located at 221 Ferndale Drive South, in the City of Barrie, on July 14, 2015.

The 19-year-old, who was 16-years-old at the time of incident, entered the store just before 4:00 a.m. and demanded money from the clerk while armed with a knife. After fleeing the store the suspect quickly disposed of his disguise along with the knife behind the store, which was located and seized by police.

Following a lengthy investigation, the suspect was recently identified through a DNA match. The 19-year-old male turned himself into police on Monday, September 18, 2017, and has been charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act with; Robbery, Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Disguise with Intent. He is scheduled to appear in Youth Court of Justice, in the City of Barrie, in October.
