ARRESTED: Suspect Stole Dog Food and Canned Goods

On Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 Barrie Police officers located the wanted male. A 43-year-old Barrie man was charged with one count of Theft Under $5000 and was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date in September.

Thank you for the public's assistance.  The male has been positively identified and the investigating officer has been notified.

Barrie Police Service is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a male responsible for a theft of dog food and other canned goods at a local convenience store.

On Saturday, July 29th, 2017 officers attended Mac's Convenience located at 151 Bayfield Street, in the City of Barrie, for a male caught stealing on video surveillance.  The suspect was observed entering the store with a black backpack on and heading straight to the canned goods section.  While the employee was helping another customer at the counter, the suspect selected various cans of dog food and other canned goods and placed them in his bag.  He left immediately after without paying for the items.

  • Approximately 6” tall and 200 lbs
  • Wearing a black ball cap, black t-shirt, blue shorts and carrying a black backpack
  • Tattoos with a large tattoo on his left forearm
